All the Italian territory has been divided into several homogeneous areas in order to implement the best management techniques in water cycle.

Local Authorities are therefore forced to implement a master plan which takes into account the existing situation, the foreseeable needs and the necessary actions to obtain the integrated management of the water cycle.

The maintenance of historical city of Venice obliges to take into account many different parameters, a perfect planning and the identification of the main problems and the needed solutions is compulsory.
The Municipality of Venice needed to develop a master plan which taking into account studies, design and construction aims to keep under control the maintenance of the canals, the banks, the bridges, the pavements, the sewage system and the underground utilities network.
Furthermore the conservation and rehabilitation of the historical buildings has been taken into account.

Our staff has been involved in the preparation of the master plan regarding the rehabilitation of a great naturalistic interest area in the city of Cagliari – Sardinia Region Italy.
The Saline-Poetto wetland is placed within the suburbs of the city of Cagliari and was highly polluted due to the discharge of the sewage system of the surrounding villages.
The Municipality needed to use the area for touristic destination in relation with the nearby very important Poetto beach.
The foreseen activities were :

– Renewal of the existing rivers;

– Rehabilitation of the historic salt marshes for production of sea salt;

– Construction of walking, cycling and riding paths;

– Restoration of existing historical buildings and construction of new

Our staff has been involved in the preparation of the master plan aimed to analyze the exiting situation of the ecosystem and to highlight possible solutions of the problem. Activities were concerned with studies, site surveying and monitoring systems, related to hydraulic problems, environmental matters and social-economic issues. The afore mentioned master plan is the biggest master plan ever done in the world for a civil engineering work.
